Emil Sjögren (1853 – 1918) was a discreet and good-natured man, who never made any fuss about himself or his art. A book was written in tribute to him when he died in 1918, but since then his name has been obscured by other personalities who have taken up more space in Swedish cultural life. Emil Sjören’s music is characterised by refined and grandiose expression.

This is the 3rd CD in a series of four with violinist Tobias Ringborg and pianist Anders Kilström reflecting Sjögrens complete work for violin and piano and part of his piano compositions.

Tobias Ringborg, Caprice artist, has recorded more than fifteen CDs. He is one of the most exciting musicians of his generation. He has been working as a conductor since 1997. He has played with all of the Swedish symphony and chamber orchestras and enjoys a successful career abroad.

Pianist Anders Kilström is also a Caprice artist and one of our most appreciated Swedish musicians. He works both as a chamber musician and as a soloist and has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in several European countries and in USA. Kilström also works as a teacher at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
