Symphony No. 2

Stenhammar’s Symphony No. 2 , a Swedish orchestral work on a large scale.

In its time the symphony was not an immediate success, but on the other hand it has afterwards met with all the more understanding and esteem. The work was premièred in April 1919 at the tenth anniversary of the Gothenburg Orchestra Society. On this CD The Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra plays, conducted by Stig Westerberg.
