Wail

The winner of the 1985 Jazz in Sweden award was the group Wail from Malmö in southern Sweden. They started as a band 1981 and their music is a personal brand of fusion jazz combining rock and Latin influences.

The members of Wail were Anders Bergcrantz on trumpet and flugelhorn, Sven Bergren on trombone, Jan Peterson on keyboards, Rolf Nilsson on guitar, Göran Schelin on electric bass, Per-Arne Tollbom on drums, and Frank Montilla on percussion.

Recorded and mixed at Easy Sound Studio in Copenhagen, April 1985.
