Ture Rangström
Invocatio/Vauxhall
Caprice presents two of Ture Rangström’s orchestral works: Symphony No. 4, Invocatio, and Vauxhall, a miniature suite for orchestra.
Both compositions were made in the 1930s, they show the contrasts in the art of Rangström. The symphony relates to the basic questions of life, the suite is like an ironic, playful and gay carnival procession. Both compositions belong to the last period in the creative work of Rangström.
