The Successors of The Ehnstedt Octet

The favorites of times gone by – music at the Spa, presented here in a collection of concert pieces, ballroom music and festive marches.

During the first few summer seasons of the 1890s Magnus Herman Ehnstedt (1833 – 1905) conducted the orchestra at Ronneby Spa. Ehnstedt could hardly be called a celebrity; he was rather a professional military musician among many others. Ehnstedt’s Successors, however, are in possession of the notes handed down from Ehnstedt and used by his octet when playing at spas in fashionable Swedish holiday resorts such as Ronneby, Söderköping and Norrtälje.

The ensemble also functions as The Stockholm Home Guard Octet and its members comprise some of the country’s best wind players.
