Karin Dornbusch

 Musica Vitae, Conductor Peter Csaba

On this CD the chamber orchestra Musica Vitae and Karin Dornbusch play Aaron Copeland’s Clarinet Concerto, a piece that was written in the late 1940s, commissioned by Benny Goodman.

It was not Goodman however, who gave the first performance of the work  –  it was so difficult to play that it took him two years to master it. Listen to Karin Dornbusch in this extremely fascinating piece of music, filled with Charleston, boogie-woogie and Brazilian popular music. On this CD Musica Vitae also performs Aaron Copland’s Two pieces for string orchestra, Alberto Ginastera’s Concerto per cordes and Samuel Barber’s Adagio for strings.
