Helen Jahrén & Musica Vitae
Oboe Concertos
Helen Jahrén oboe, and the chamber ensemble Musica Vitae, conductor Peter Csaba, perform works by W.A. Mozart, Johann Christian Bach and Giuseppe Ferlendis.
Helen Jahren’s repertoire spans all the important works from the baroque to the present time, and she has also had about 50 works written expressly for her by such composers as Erik Bergman, Sven-David Sandström, Jouni Kaipainen and Poul Ruders. She has been awarded many prizes through the years. In 1998 she was made a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.
Musica Vitae from Växjö is one of Sweden’s leading chamber orchestras. They perform classical as well as contemporary music. Many Swedish and foreign soloists and conductors have been guests of the orchestra. Musica Vitae has premiered many new works written for them by Swedish composers. They also tour a great deal.
Peter Csaba, who comes from a Hungarian family of musicians, is a professor at the Music Conservatory in Lyon. He is also active in many other fields – he is principal conductor of the Besancon’s City Orchestra and founder of several other orchestras.
