Anders Eliasson/Symphony 1
Gennady Rozhdestvensky/Knut Sönstevold
One of the leading conductors of the later 20-th century, the Russian Gennady Rozhdestvenksy, made this recording of Anders Eliasson’s 1st symphony in 1990, with the USSR Ministry of Culture Symphony Orchestra. Eliasson’s symphony is one of the most brilliant Swedish symphonies of the 1980s.
This CD also contains astonishing interpretations of the Concerto per Fagotto (soloist Knut Sönstevold) and Ostacoli played by the unique Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra led by its dynamic conductor Juha Kangas.
