Christina’s Journey

Susanne Rydén

The “Christina’s journey” project was initiated several years ago by the soprano Susanne Rydén and now there is both a performance and a CD with most of the music from the performance. The point of departure is the colorful music, rich in contrast, which surrounded Christina during her years as queen of Sweden and during the years of exile in Rome.

Much of the work on this ambitious project has been spent on research, studying the music, diary entries, correspondence etc… The end result is a performance reflecting the lively and modern cultural personality of Christina and a CD of the highest musical quality with Susanne Rydén and the Stockholms Barock Ensemble.
