Allan Pettersson

Allan Pettersson, an eccentric personality in Swedish musical life, wrote sixteen symphonies, three string concertos (two of which are included on this record), a viola concerto (the viola was his “own” instrument before he quit playing in the orchestra and devoted himself to composing), two collections of songs and a number of chamber music works. The Barefoot Songs were composed in the early 1940s and are a central part of Pettersson´s oeuvre.

Olle Persson, well-known from a number of Caprice recordings, is one of the most sought-after Swedish singers in his field. His versatility and theatrical talent make him a frequent guest in different contexts, on radio and TV, gramophone recordings and as a guest soloist in great demand at the Folk Opera in Stockholm. He has also participated in productions at the Malmö Opera and Music Theater, the Gothenburg Opera, The Drottningholm Palace Theater and the Royal Opera in Stockholm.
