 Amazing Orchestra

This double cd documents a project produced annually for Swedish Radio in Göteborg (Gothenburg). Basically, the project involves a few days of intensive recording sessions for an ad hoc group of handpicked musicians representing a variety of genres.

In 1994 alto sax player Thomas Jäderlund was selected to put a group together, and the result, which turned out to be really exciting, is now presented on cd. The names speaks for themselves: Thomasz Stanko, trumpet, Stein-Erik Tafjord, tuba, Christy Doran, guitar, Guy Klucevsek, accordion, Svante Henrysson, cello and electric bass, Jonny Axelsson, percussion, and Thomas Jäderlund himself.

A group spanning a wide variety of musical expression and form, piloted by Thomas Jäderlund through the border country  between composition and improvisation.
