The Most Beloved Opera Choruses
Chorus and Orchestra of the Royal Swedish Opera/Sixten Ehrling
Ever since the birth of operatic art, in late 16th century Italy, nearly all operas have included choruses of various proportions – setting the mood, commenting on the action, or providing festive openings, interludes and conclusions.
On this CD the most beloved choruses in the operatic repertoire are presented in a magnificent recording by the Chorus and Orchestra of the Royal Swedish Opera, conducted by Sixten Ehrling.
