Magnus Lindgren & the Swedish Radio Jazz Group

Paradise open

Magnus Lindgren is featured on the third CD of the big-band project organized by the Swedish RadioP2 and Caprice Records. Magnus has written all the arrangements and composed most of the music. The recording was made “live” in August 2001 with Sweden’s foremost jazz musicians at Jazz club Fasching, Stockholm, where the group achieved an enormous success during three consecutive evenings.

Magnus Lindgren was chosen as “Jazz in Sweden – artist” 1999, and that same year his CD “Way Out” was released and received a very favorable reaction from the critics.

Magnus Lindgren is one of the most versatile musicians in Sweden today, and among those musicians from the younger generation who has attracted most attention. He is not only an instrumentalist, but also an arranger and composer who has worked in many different musical settings, from Herbie Hancock to Benny Andersson.

The collaboration between Caprice Records and Swedish Radio P2 has resulted in three big-band CDs. First out was Jerker Lindström with RJG Nouveau, second Bosse Broberg with Nogenja and now the third with Magnus Lindgren and the Radio Jazz Group. This record received the Grammy Award 2002, The Golden Disc and 4 stars in Downbeat.
