KammarensembleN Live
Live
The newspaper Svenska Dagbladet called them an “ensemble that defies the law of gravity”, and Berlingske Tidene, Copenhagen wrote: “An ensemble of superb soloists, quite young, with an ideal combination of meticulous precision and infectious enthusiasm.”
Conductor and composer B. Tommy Andersson has been Artistic Director since 1994. The repertoire concentrates on music – Scandinavian music especially – of the 20th century, presenting a whole spectrum of chamber works from solo pieces to sinfoniettas. The group has played an important part in highlighting young Swedish music, while at the same time introducing international composers in Sweden. Many composers have written expressly for the ensemble, which has more than 50 première performances to its credit.
The listener is and remains an important starting point for the ensemble. The CD KammarensembleN Live, a concert recording from the Berwald Hall, Stockholm, seeks to convey the atmosphere and immediacy of a concert, “when the musicians commitment imparts an extra dimension to the music”. The CD contains works by the following composers: Xenakis, Boulez, Grisey, Tanguy and Varèse.
