There Will Be Stars
Josefine Lindstrand
Singer Josefine Lindstrand was the 2009 Jazz in Sweden artist, and as part of the award Caprice Records released her debut album There Will Be Stars. Josefine has set poems by the American poet Sara Teasdale to music, and, in the company of her fellow musicians, has created a highly personal, atmospheric album which is guaranteed to reward repeated listening.
For the past few years, Josefine Lindstrand has been an established name on the international jazz scene. She works regularly with British pianist and composer Django Bates in a variety of constellations and features on American pianist Uri Caine’s CDs The Othello Syndrome and The Classical Variations. Josefine Lindstrand plays piano and sings with the Swedish pop artist Maia Hirasawa, and in 2005 received a Danish Music Award in the best vocal CD category with the group Sekten.
