Music from Uganda 3

Echoes of Kampala

Here we get to listen to urban music. A ”new” country enters the stage of African pop music. The capital of Uganda seethes with music, in clubs, bars discoteques and hotels. Everything from modern rap to folk music can be heard.

When Edel’Akongu “Echo” Ekodelele gathered some of the best musicians from Kampala it was to turn and old dream into reality. To create new sounds based on the rich traditions of Ugandan folk music. Here it is – Kampala today, on the move. The CD was recorded in Kampala 1996.
