Music from Tanzania and Zanzibar 2

Arabic & African

This music is unique, warm, swinging, close to folk music, here with modern, digital sound quality.

The music has evolved in the meeting of Arabic and African cultures and has continued to incorporate new impressions and to develop locally distinctive styles in dynamic interaction with the surrounding world.

Among the musicians featured are the Dunga Ngoma Group, Tondo and JKT Brass Band. The CD was recorded in Dar es Salaam in November 1996.
