The history of Swedish Jazz, Svensk Jazzhistoria, 1899–1969 has been produced by Caprice Records in a 10-volume series. Each album contains 2 to 4 CDs, an illustrated book with original photos and English summary. The albums describe the development of jazz music in Sweden with some of the greatest recordings, unique radio material and private tapes.

This compilation presents a selection of some of the most famous Swedish jazz musicians and orchestras of the period.
