The Game

Magnus Lindgren Quartet

The saxophonist Magnus Lindgren is one of  Sweden’s most acclaimed and many-faceted jazz musicians. The Game, is his third CD.

Magnus Lindgren and his quartet debuted as early as 1999 with their Jazz in Sweden CD Way Out. This was the start of many long tours of Europe, which in turn led to several international awards, both for Magnus Lindgren as a soloist and for the quartet.

In 2001, Magnus Lindgren followed his debut with the big band CD Paradise Open,  where he has written and arranged music directly for the Swedish Radio Jazz Band, as well as participating as bandleader and soloist. Paradise Open won both a Swedish Grammy and the Gyllene skivan (Golden Record, awarded by the periodical OJ), and was also named Jazz release of the year by the Swedish Radio P2.

The musicians featured on The Game are: Mathias Algotsson, piano; Fredrik Jonsson, bass; and Jonas Holgersson, drums.
