About Caprice Music

Re-release in the service of today – Caprice Music puts out earlier productions from their own catalogue, together with material from Statens musikverk’s collections.

Over 400 titles from over 40 years

The releases consist mainly of Swedish music by and with Swedish artists, musicians and composers, and covers a wide genre spectrum with everything from classical music, contemporary and electroacoustic music, to jazz, folk, world music, pop, children's and youth music. Caprice Records’ catalogue also contains historical documentation, composer portraits and collection releases.

Caprice Music was founded in 1971 and was Concerts Sweden’s (Rikskonserter) own record label until 2011, when the business was taken over by Statens musikverk. In conjunction with this transition, the objectives changed to primarily making available its back catalogue, but also to working with music from Statens musikverk’s archives.

Caprice Music collaborates, and has collaborated, with various partners within and outside the music scene, such as the Royal Academy of Music, Swedish Radio, Swedish Television, Nomus, Sida, Export Music Sweden, The Swedish Institute, The Royal Swedish Opera, and others.
